Braemar Amendment C45 (Boundary Road, Woodend)
MRRA Makes Submission On Braemar Amendment (21/8/09 - P) It's worse than we thought...
Amendment C8 (Residential & Industrial Land)
State Government Gazettes 2003 "Lapse" Of Infamous Amendment C8 (15/5/06 - P) What's going on? Wasn't C8 abandoned when Council walked away from it in 2004?
Amendment C21 & C48 (Rural Land)

Hallelujah! Pinch Yourself: A Year On, Minister for Planning Hulls Finally, Finally Finds His Pen And Signs Off On Amendments C21 and C48 (11/2/06 – P) Now it’s time to work out exactly what he’s approved…

Amendment C21 & C48 (2000 Lots Missing from Scheme Maps)
Close To 2,000 Existing Rural Lots Left Off New Macedon Ranges' Planning Scheme Maps (18/3/06 - SP) The list of mistakes keeps growing as Department of Sustainability and Environment shafts Macedon Ranges again
Amendment C26 (Wildfire Management Overlay)
Amendment C26 Approved: New Wildfire Overlays (WMO) Now Apply (3/3/08 - P) Approved by Planning Minister last week.
Amendment C33 (Heritage)
Amendment C38 (Gisborne Development Plan Overlay)
C38 Development Plan Overlay In Gisborne Almost Slipped Away (2/8/06 - P) Cr. Rob Guthrie says ask Minister to extend until Gisborne Outline Development Plan is in scheme. All we need to do now is find the Gisborne ODP.
Amendment C39 (Towns' DPO and various)
Residents Lose Rights To Notice, Object and Appeal As Minister for Planning Today Signs Off On Amendment C39: Rights to Know Now Squashed For All Development Applications In Residential Zones Where Development Plan Overlays Apply (23/11/06 - P) According to VCAT, Development Plan Overlays extinguish all residents' rights, and now, thanks to C39, DPOs are over 5 of 6 of our main towns: Gisborne, Kyneton, Riddells Creek, Romsey, Woodend. Council alone will make decisions - and with Macedon Ranges Council, that could mean developers can basically do what they want, and we can't have any say in it.
Your Rights Removed? Amendment C39: (21/3/05 - P) Development Plan Overlays for Romsey, Kyneton, Woodend and Riddells Creek
Council Sends Amendments C39 and C40 to Independent Panel (22/4/05 - P)

Amendment C47 (Mixed Use Woodend, and various)
Minister for Planning Approves Amendment C47, Opens The Door For Supermarket and Petrol Station At Woodend Railway Station (13/6/08 - P) Not all of the amendment was approved, but enough to see the old CFA building, and former railway goods sheds (the produce store and insectarium) now facing demolition - there aren't any heritage overlays on the land that has been rezoned, or the CFA and former goods sheds.
C47, The 'Dog's Breakfast' Amendment: Planning In Macedon Ranges Shire Disintegrates As Council Defies Panel's "No" To Get Woodend Rezoning For Developers (31/3/07 - P) Last Wednesday's Council meeting confirms this Council will do "whatever it takes" to get developers what they want. Community, rules and process can just sod off.
As MRRA Predicted, C47 Proves To Be A "Dog's Breakfast" Amendment As Independent Panel Recommends Most Rezonings Be Abandoned Because There's No Strategic Justification For Them (28/3/07 - P) Council agrees to Panel's recommendations on 14th March, but rumour has it some will attempt to reverse that decision on March 28 to get major development moving: will five Councillors do 'whatever it takes' to get these rejected proposals up? Is C47 set to become Woodend's version of the 'development at any cost' Gisborne Call Centre fiasco?
Council Almost Goes With Illegal Move On Amendments C47 and C49 (23/7/06 - P) Claims that Department of Sustainability and Environment agreed to recommendations not allowed by Act

The Stench Of Villawood Assaults Woodend Yet Again With Yet Another (Amendment) Development Proposal Outside The Town Boundary (20/10/14 - P) They're back! This time they want their 500-odd acres at Golf Course Hill rezoned for 150 lots (0.5ha to 20ha) and a potential retirement village (no numbers provided - as you do)
Brazen As You like, Council Lies Again To The Community - If Not The Minister For Planning (13/7/14 - P) Grab your July copy of Shire Life, and frame it as evidence that nothing is too low for Macedon Ranges Council
Amendment C84: Getting Riddell Right Calls For Community Help To Have Minister For Planning Intervene (25/6/14 - P) Council refusal to act on C84 Panel recommendation deletes critical policy and undermines community VCAT case against supermarket proposal

Amendments C98, 99, 100 (Town Structure Plans 2013 - 2016) See also Outline Development Plans
Thought Amendments C98 (Woodend), C99 (Kyneton) and C100 (Riddells Creek) Are Implementing Each Town's Structure Plan? Think Again (13/10/15 - P) These amendments take the towns in a different direction to the Structure Plans Council adopted. Substantial additions, deletions and changes have been made since the Structure Plans were adopted and it is these changes, not the Structure Plans, that are in the amendments. Changes at Riddells Creek and Kyneton are so substantial, Council isn't even including the adopted Structure Plans as Reference Documents for the policies in these amendments. Residents must make submissions to Council requesting their Structure Plans replace what's in these amendments by October 23.
Amendment C107 (Commercial Rezone, Woodend 2016)
Uh-oh... What's Going On With The Amendment C107 Commercial Rezoning In Woodend? ( 2/11/15 - P) We don't know... but Council's strange behaviour certainly raises eyebrows and questions Woodend Structure Plan File

Reminder: Council's C110 Rural Living Land-Grab Amendment Submissions Close December 23 ( 13/12/15 - P) Amendment C110 - the disgrace Macedon Ranges Shire Council calls planning. Just a couple of lines from you objecting to and asking for C110 to be abandoned will do.
Council's "In The Rural Living Zone". Well, It's Some Sort Of Zone But More Like One From Outer Space... (16/12/14 - P) Psst...don't ever call it a strategy or even planning: greed, ignorance, misrepresentation and empire-building are closer to the mark (MRRA Submission) Rural Living File
Council's "From Outer-Space" Rural Living 'Strategy': Amendment C110 Is Now On Exhibition. Submissions Due 23 December (24/11/15 - P) Will it go down as the worst example of 'planning' in Macedon Ranges Shire? In history? It should... It's self-interested madness. Make sure you get your objection in. Rural Living file
