They Are Madder Than Hell In Mornington Peninsula - About Rates

(17/8/11 - CC)  Mornington Peninsula Ratepayers and Residents' Association Inc says its Council is the "worst financial performing council in Victoria in 2011-12"

Down Mornington Peninsula way the Ratepayers and Residents Group is furious with the rate rise its council decided to go with this year, claiming only 3 other councils topped MP's rates rises - and those places are recovering from fire or flood!  Here's what they had to say.

MRRA Says:

We like people who say what they mean, and so we liked the MPRRA's last paragraph the most.  Go community!

Port Phillip Bay Foreshore Land Grab

MPRRA says:

Please give us 5 minutes of your time to help preserve Victoria's foreshores

Please download a draft letter to which we ask you to just add your name and address and send to the Department of Sustainability and Environment - (Email: sally.burgess@dse.vic.gov.au), and copy to us please alanne@ihug.com.au.

A Coalition of Concerned Peninsula Ratepayers and Environmental Groups oppose the construction of an indoor leisure and aquatic complex by the Mornington Peninsula Shire officers on Crown Land on the Rosebud foreshore.

The groups are not opposed to a new aquatic complex but believe that it should be located on one of the inland sites chosen from a total of 10 sites identified by the Shire.

It is important that you support us as this could set a precedent for other non-coastal dependent facilities to be sited on foreshores around Port Phillip Bay and Victorian coastal townships foreshores.

Secretary, Mornington Peninsula Ratepayers' and Residents' Association Inc.
