May Is RabbitScan Month

(24/4/09 - E)  National Rabbit Threat Mapping And Awareness Campaign 

RabbitScan is a nation-wide challenge for the community and schools to help scientists map where rabbits are located. Residents and communities are asked to ‘scan’ their landscape (school, farm, parkland, roadside reserves, ovals etc) for signs of rabbits and their damage, and to load their results online - during RabbitScan Month in May 2009.

 

RabbitScan has been launched amid renewed fears by government, industry and the community that rabbits are growing in numbers, range and in the damage they cause across Australia. The Rabbitscan website has been specially designed to allow community and school groups to map local rabbits and includes a schools/teachers ‘kit’ to assist group participation.  For more information, go to
