Landcare Awards Winners Announced
(11/9/08 - O) A super well done to winners and nominees, especially those from Macedon Ranges Shire
Last Saturday's announcement of the Landcare Awards saw Macedon Ranges represented in the nominations and winners. Penny Roberts of Newham won the Individual Caring For Private Land award.
Deep Creek Landcare were nominated for the Community Group Caring for Private Land award, and Wurundjeri Tribe Land Compensation Cultural Heritage Council and Mt William Wurundjeri Stone Axe Quarry and Sunbury Rings Advisory Group were nominated for the Indigenous Caring for Land award. On top of that, John Webb Ware of Clarkefield is a member the Victorian Serrated Tussock Working Party which was nominated for the Community Group Caring for Public Land award.
A super duper well done to all the kids who were nominated through their schools and junior Landcare group in the Young People Caring for Land category, and to the winners, Balnarring Primary School.
Hope we haven't missed anyone (psst... well done Arnie too!).

(28/8/06) UPDATE Governor of Victoria To Present Awards There are 11 Landcare Award Categories this year, and we received 58 nominations across the 11 categories. The 11 award winners will be announced on the day and presented with their awards. We will also have an Honour Roll on display recognising all those community (Landcare and Friends Group) volunteers who have given 10 or 20 years service to the community. We are also happy to advise that Professor David de Kretser, A.C., Governor of Victoria and Patron of Landcare, will be presenting the awards to the winners.
