Some disappointments as a good councillor (Gayfer) and some good candidates miss out, and as Geoff Neil is elected in East ward.
Overall though it looks like a councillor group has been elected which has potential to to excel and to continue to keep the progressive momentum going in tune with community values and requirements, and not go backwards towards the Shire's dark pre-2016 past.

Note: Two candidates (Rob Guthrie in South Ward and Annette Death in East Ward) were elected on primary votes. The remaining successful candidates were elected through distribution of preferences.

One candidate achieved a quota on primary votes, and this ELECTED DEATH (2,647 votes - 190 more than (surplus to) the quota).
Death's surplus (190 votes) was distributed, going to Gayfer (72 / 37.9%), West (32 / 16.8%), Neil (31 / 16.3%), Bleeck (27 / 14.2%), and Alford-Kerr (24 / 12.6%).
This distribution moved Gayfer ahead of Neil.
At this point, with DEATH elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Alford-Kerr (863); Bleeck (1373); Neil (1621); Gayfer (1643); West (1865).
As no other candidate achieved a quota, Alford-Kerr (863 votes) was eliminated.
Her 839 primary votes went to Neil (328 / 39.1%), Gayfer (213 / 25.4%), West (161 / 19.2%), and Bleeck (137 / 16.3%)
This distribution moved Neil ahead of Gayfer.
At this point, with DEATH elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Bleeck (1510); Gayfer (1856); Neil (1949); West (2026).
The additional 24 preferences Alford-Kerr received from the distribution of Death's surplus went to Gayfer (11 / 45.8%), Neil (7 / 29.2%), Bleeck and West (2 each / 8.3% each).
At this point, with DEATH elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Bleeck (1512); Gayfer (1867); Neil (1956); West (2028).
As no other candidate achieved a quota, Bleeck (1512 votes) was eliminated.
His 1346 primary votes went to West (511 / 38.0%), Neil (486 / 36.1%) and Gayfer (349 / 25.9%).
This distribution ELECTED WEST (2539 votes, 82 votes more than (surplus to) the quota).
At this point, with DEATH and WEST elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Gayfer (2216) and Neil (2442).
The additional 137 preferences Bleeck had received from previously eliminated candidates went to Neil (90 / 65.7%) and Gayfer (47 / 34.3%).
This distribution ELECTED NEIL (2532 votes, 75 votes more than (surplus to) the quota). Counting stopped.
The remaining candidate, Gayfer, finished with 2263 votes (269 votes fewer than Neil).

One candidate achieved a quota on primary votes, and this ELECTED GUTHRIE (3087 votes - 393 more than (surplus to) the quota).
Guthrie's surplus (393 votes) was distributed, going to Moore (141 / 35.9%), Hackett (69 / 17.6%), Bonanno (65 / 16.5%), Walker (51 / 13.0%), Gauci (33 / 8.4%) and Amenta (31 / 7.9%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Amenta (392), Gauci (1001), Hackett (1228), Walker (1395), Moore (1633) and Bonanno (2426).
As no other candidate achieved a quota, Amenta (392 votes) was eliminated.
His 361 primary votes went to Bonanno (121 / 33 .5%), Hackett (68 / 18.8%), Moore (64 / 17.7%), Gauci (61 / 16.9%) and Walker (47 / 13.0%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Gauci (1062), Hackett (1296), Walker (1442), Moore (1697) and Bonanno (2547).
The additional 31 votes Amenta received from distribution of Guthrie's surplus went to Bonanno (23 / 74.2%), Moore (4 / 12.9%), Walker (1 / 3.2%), Gauci (1 / 3.2%) and Hackett (1 / 3.2%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Gauci (1063), Hackett (1297), Walker (1443), Moore (1701) and Bonanno (2570).
As no other candidate achieved a quota, Gauci (1063 votes) was eliminated.
His 968 primary votes mainly went to Moore (340 / 35.1%), Walker (293 / 30.3%), Bonanno (200 / 20.7%) and Hackett (135 / 13.9%).
This distribution ELECTED BONANNO (2770 votes, 76 more than (surplus to) the quota).
At this point, with GUTHRIE and BONANNO elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Hackett (1432), Walker (1736) and Moore (2041).
The additional 61 preferences Gauci had received from previously eliminated candidates went mainly to Moore (26 / 42.6%), Hackett (20 / 32.8%) and Walker (15 / 24.6%)
At this point, with GUTHRIE and BONANNO elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Hackett (1452), Walker (1751) and Moore (2067).
The additional 34 votes Gauci received from distribution of Guthrie's surplus went to Moore (19 / 55.9%), Walker (9 / 26.5%) and Hackett (5 / 14.7%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE and BONANNO elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Hackett (1457), Walker (1760) and Moore (2086).
Bonanno's surplus (76 votes) was distributed, going to Moore (28 / 36.8%), Walker (24 / 31.6%) and Hackett (22 / 28.9%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE and BONANNO elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Hackett (1479), Walker (1784) and Moore (2114).
As no other candidate achieved a quota, Hackett (1479 votes) was eliminated.
His 1159 primary votes went to Walker (687 / 59.3%) and Moore (472 / 40.7%).
At this point, with GUTHRIE and BONANNO elected, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Walker (2471) and Moore (2586).
The additional 223 preferences Hackett had received from previously eliminated candidates went to Walker (130 / 58.3%) and Moore (93 / 41.7%).
The additional 75 votes Hackett had received from distributions of Guthrie's surplus went to Walker (40 / 53.3%) and Moore (35 / 46.7%).
These distributions ELECTED MOORE (2714 votes, 20 more than (surplus to) the quota). Counting stopped.
The 22 votes Hackett held from Bonanno's surplus were not distributed (not needed).
The remaining candidate, Walker, finished with 2641 votes (73 votes fewer than Moore).

As no candidate achieved a quota, Wilson (450 votes) was eliminated.
His primary votes went to Turner (131 / 29.1%); Ridgeway (81 / 18.0%); Abruzzi (78 / 17.3%); Walsh (58 / 12.9%); Pearce (52 / 11.6%); Anderson (26 / 5.8%); Thompson (24 / 5.3%).
This distribution moved Anderson ahead of Thompson.
At this point, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Abruzzi (692); Walsh (810); Turner (1648); Thompson (1789); Anderson (1790); Ridgeway (1846); Pearce (1855).
As no candidate achieved a quota, Abruzzi (692 votes) was eliminated.
Her 614 primary votes went to Turner (213 / 34.7%); Ridgeway (101 / 16.5%); Pearce (119 / 19.4%); Anderson (72 / 11.7%); Thompson (63 / 10.3%); Walsh (46 / 7.5%).
This distribution moved Turner ahead of Thompson, and Anderson ahead of Turner.
At this point, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Walsh (856); Thompson (1852); Turner (1861); Anderson (1862); Ridgeway (1947); Pearce (1974).
The additional 78 preferences Abruzzi had received from previously eliminated candidates went mainly to Turner (22 / 28.2%); Ridgeway (15 / 19.2%); Pearce (14 / 17.9%); Walsh (12 / 15.4%); Thompson (8 / 10.3%); Anderson (7 / 9.0%).
This distribution moved Turner ahead of Anderson.
At this point, continuing candidates (votes held) were: Walsh (868); Thompson (1860); Anderson (1869); Turner (1883); Ridgeway (1962); Pearce (1988).
As no candidate achieved a quota, Walsh (868 votes) was eliminated.
His 752 primary votes went to Turner (220 / 29.3%); Ridgeway (209 / 27.8%); Pearce (139 / 18.5%); Anderson (108 / 14.4%); Thompson (76 / 10.1%).
This distribution moved Pearce ahead of Turner.

This distribution ELECTED ANDERSON (2727 votes, 119 votes more than (surplus to) the quota) and ELECTED PEARCE (2657, 49 votes more than (surplus to) the quota).
At this point continuing candidates (votes held) were: Turner (2280) and Ridgeway (2589).
The additional 177 votes Thompson had received from previously eliminated candidates went to Ridgeway (93 / 52.5%); Turner (84 / 47.5%).
This distribution ELECTED RIDGEWAY (2682 votes, 74 votes more than (surplus to) the quota). Counting stopped.
The remaining candidate, Turner, finished with 2364 votes (318 votes fewer than Ridgeway).
