Submission: 2006 Draft Councillor Code of Conduct

Dear Sir,

I wish to comment on the above draft, and submit the following comments as an expression of my view for Council’s consideration.

Council is to be commended for producing a high standard document which is also a significant improvement over the previous Code. 

I support Council adopting the Code of Conduct, as exhibited, with the following change:

I ask, at Clause 34, that the Chief Executive Officer be added as a person to whom alleged breaches of the Code by councillors are reported, and that the Chief Executive Officer also be included as a person jointly responsible, with the Mayor, for dealing with alleged  breaches by councillors.
