Macedon Ranges Residents’ Association Announces It Will ‘Rate’ Candidates in November Council Election

Candidates to be measured against what MRRA thinks is important: “Keep Macedon Ranges Rural” is No. 1 Priority

For the first time in its history, Macedon Ranges Residents’ Association will take an active role in the up-coming Council election in November.

The Association has been watching Council – going to meetings, reading reports, making submissions, listening to your impressions.  And like many of you, we’ve seen enough to know this Shire must do better.

Macedon Ranges truly is AT THE CROSSROADS.   Will it be ‘hello, suburbia’ or ‘keep it rural’?  As a community, we can’t afford ‘business as usual’.   Where this Shire and community go in future will very much depend upon the quality, capabilities and commitment of our next Council.

We need a better Council.   November’s our opportunity to get one.

MRRA will be looking at candidates and measuring them against what the Association and a lot of residents think is important.

What they’ve done will count more than what they promise.

Top ‘scores’ will go to:

people who are passionate about and understand this place

people who look forward, not inwards

people who put Macedon Ranges and its community FIRST
