The Councillor Email Trail to MRRA - Kyneton Development Plan

These emails have been forwarded by MRRA to Mary-Anne Thomas and the Minister for Planning.  MRRA suggests that if you received similar emails from either of these Councillors that you too forward yours on as MRRA has.  Councillors are not supposed to behave this way.

Email:  From Cr. John Letchford to Brian Whitefield  Wednesday, December 16, 2015 11:57 AM

Brian (President of MRRA) – there are a lot of submissions to the consultation process so I am not sure that your information on consultation or lack of that you are implying is correct.

So I ask you in the openness of decision making – where did you get your information from?

How many?

Where are your complaints?

Is this wild conjecture or is it factually based?

I ask this not in a flippant way but to seek the truth ..

Regards – John

Hi Brian –

Yes I know however we did !!!   That’s the point in that we did and you have absolutely no evidence as the President of the MRRA to indicate the alternative except to clutch at something intangible.  I am not shocked by these emails however I am disappointed with the MRRA and its continual lack of openness, transparency and its overall ability to be honest.

And now that we have touched on the honest word let’s have a look at what the State Government has recently released.  The state commissioned and has now released, its findings on Hanging Rock Management – well guess what?   We come out smelling of roses whilst our detractors languish in the litany of lies they weaved pre-election.  Only time will tell as to how MRRA respond but like all things MRRA the question has to be asked ….. is the MRRA capable of admitting “MRRA got it wrong” or “sorry we, MRRA, mislead the community” or “sorry we, MRRA, became too political and should not have”.

Over to you Brian.  I hope that as President that you can change the attitude of some within the MRRA.  By the way – who is and is not in the MRRA?  How many are there on the books as active members?

Regards John
