Application For Gold Exploration Between Carlsruhe and Trentham, West Of Woodend

(20/11/10 - SG)  Objections can be made until 7th December

This application was made on 21/10/10, and advertized in the 16 November edition of the Midland Express.  The notice says objections can be made within 21 days of after the latest date on which the application was advertized.  It is not known if the 16 November notice was the latest notice given, but from that date residents have until December 7 to lodge objections.

The application includes surface sampling and drilling for gold mineralisation.

It seems if a licence is granted, those exploring can access private land, although whether landowners have any right to refuse entry is not clear.

The Department of Primary Industries, through the Earth Resources Business Centre, is the decision-maker.  You can find out more about Earth Resources from http://new.dpi.vic.gov.au/earth-resources/industries
