Farm forestry pruning field day

A farm forestry pruning field day will be held next Monday 10th September from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Taylor's property, Eddington-Dunolly Rd, Eddington.

Pruning of farm timber plantations is crucial to the successful production of sawlogs and other wood products from plantations.

John Taylor from Department of Primary Industries [DPI] will describe the establishment process for his plantations, and DPI Farm Forestry Officer Shaun Quayle will describe and demonstrate pruning techniques for young forestry plantations.

If you have a young plantation ready for pruning, or if you are interested in finding out what's involved in managing a timber plantation, then come along and join the discussion.

Call Shaun Quayle on at DPI Epsom on 5430 4563 or email shaun.quayle@dpi.vic.gov.au for a map to the site or to register your interest.
