Comments Called For On Council's Draft Agribusiness Plan - Written Submissions Close Friday 10 May 2013

(23/4/13-RA-C)  Is it a good thing, or a bad thing?

Council is asking for you to have your say on the future of agribusiness in the Shire.

"The Draft Plan incorporates the feedback received from the local agribusiness community via the Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Survey and following consultation workshop. It also reflects Council’s commitment to supporting a sustainable agricultural future for the Macedon Ranges whilst acknowledging the contribution of agribusiness to the local economy and community.

The Draft Plan proposes fourteen strategic recommendations that are targeted at specific priority issues that come under four strategic themes: Facilitating Communication; Managing Transition; Providing Information and Facilitating Outcomes; and Supporting Growth Opportunities.

Recommendations include forming a Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Forum; facilitating regular industry workshops and networking opportunities; and building links between the established and new residents in agricultural areas."

You can get a copy of the Plan at Council's Kyneton, Woodend, Romsey and Gisborne offices, or Council's website at http://www.mrsc.vic.gov.au/Council_the_Region/News_Media/Latest_News/Public_comments_invited_on_Draft_Agribusiness_Plan  or click here.
