Council's New Pokies Policy Out For Public Comment Until 29 August
(10/8/08 - C) Replaces 2002 Policy
Macedon Ranges Council has a new draft Electronic Gaming Machine policy in the pipeline and is looking for community comment by August 29.
This policy will articulate Council's position and vision for pokies. The new policy aims to strike a balance between the recreational potential of pokies in the Shire, and Council's broader town planning, health, wellbeing and community representation responsibilities.
Hard copies are at libraries and Council service centres, and the draft policy can also be downloaded from Council's website
www.mrsc.vic.gov.au - look for it under "For Your Comment". Also check out how to get more information and send in submissions. The Council contact for this project is Dr. Lorraine Beyer, Social Planning Coordinator, 5422 0237, lbeyer@mrsc.vic.gov.au
