Political patronage remains a serious problem at Brimbank even though the council was sacked last year for corruption.

It seems the level of dissatisfaction with the Brumby government has reached critical mass in the lead up to the state election. The ongoing community frustrations and feelings of hopelessness about the absence of whole of community approaches to improve our area have led residents to the point where SunRRA will be producing its own How to Vote card to hand out at the upcoming November state elections.

Bills are killing me

In addition to these exorbitant council rates, we are forced to pay quadruple for our electricity bills for using less than same time last years bill. Then to top it off we are slugged with enormous gas and water bills (Australia is a Country with endless supply of GAS we shouldn’t be paying so much for GAS).

Hands off Pizzey St Playground

To remove any playground in Sunshine is ridiculous considering the limited open space that we have. We are already so disadvantaged in this area and to deprive our children/grandchildren of a decent playground is extremely neglectful on the administrators behalf.

Gambling in Brimbank

The love affair gamblers have with Brimbank poker machines shows no signs of abating, with the latest figures revealing almost $12.5 million was spent on machines in the municipality in July. No other Victorian municipality had a higher spend in that month. Prof Moore said some people surveyed for the study had said gambling venues could be “like an oasis” for them.

Triple Towers Threat

They just pulled down the Braybrook Flats on Ballarat Road next to the pub for reasons everyone knows. Now they are going to build the new Sunshine Flats near all the grog shops in Hampshire Road. Its part of the plan too.

Who are the new Administrators?

I suppose this explains a lot really. Lewinsky doesn't seem to like scrunity. This must be why he and Nick Foa get on so well. Two peas in a pod. Close the shutters and batten down the hatches crew Lewinsky and Foa are in charge.

Eddington Report – Regional rail and Sunshine Station

During a metropolitan transport forum at Maribyrnong Town Hall last week, Ms Hartland asked Maribyrnong MP Marsha Thomson whether Sunshine station would be redeveloped or rebuilt. She’s yet to get a response. Ms Thomson could not be reached for comment.
